Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into thin strips
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, ginger, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Add the chicken strips to the marinade and stir to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 8 hours.
  3. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Brush the grill with the vegetable oil.
  6. Grill the chicken strips for about 5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  7. Serve the chicken satay with the chopped cilantro, if desired.
