Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fonio grains
- 1 cup water
- Pinch of salt
- 1 Tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Directions
- In a medium saucepan, bring the water and salt to a boil.
- Add the fonio and reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- When the fonio is cooked and the water has been absorbed, remove from heat.
- Stir in the honey or maple syrup, if using.
