Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fonio grains
  • 1 cup water
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • Toppings of your choice: fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, etc.

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the water and salt to a boil.
  2. Add the fonio and reduce the heat to low.
  3. Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. When the fonio is cooked and the water has been absorbed, remove from heat.
  5. Stir in the honey or maple syrup, if using.
  6. Add your desired toppings and enjoy!
