Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced carrot
  • 1/4 cup diced red pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 cup diced mushroom
  • 1/4 cup diced tofu
  • 1/4 cup diced bamboo shoots
  • 1/4 cup diced water chestnuts
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine or sherry
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onion, carrot, red pepper, celery, and mushroom. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
  3. Add tofu, bamboo shoots, and water chestnuts. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, rice wine or sherry, sugar, salt, white pepper, and cornstarch. Whisk until blended.
  5. Add soy sauce mixture to the wok or pan and stir-fry for 1 minute, until sauce is thick and bubbly.
  6. Serve hot.
