Directions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into crumbles.
- Add the diced onion, minced garlic, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the pot. Cook for 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.
- Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, ketchup, brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), and water to the pot. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
