Ingredients

  • 1 lb turkey breast, cooked and shredded
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden and bubbly. Gradually whisk in heavy cream and chicken broth.   5. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, turkey, onions, and cream sauce.
  6. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves, if desired.
