This mouthwatering Goat Biryani recipe by Shyam is a flavorful and aromatic dish that combines tender goat meat with fragrant spices and basmati rice. It is a perfect dish to impress your family and friends with your cooking skills.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs goat meat, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups basmati rice, soaked
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp biryani masala
  • 4-5 green chilies, slit
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 cups water

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, marinate the goat meat with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, biryani masala, salt, and half of the chopped cilantro and mint leaves. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours.
  2. Heat ghee in a large pot and sauté the sliced onions until golden brown. Add the marinated goat meat and cook until it is browned on all sides.
  3. Add tomatoes and green chilies to the pot and cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  4. In a separate pot, boil water and add soaked basmati rice. Cook until the rice is 70% done. Drain the rice and layer it over the goat meat mixture in the pot.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining chopped cilantro and mint leaves over the rice. Cover the pot with a tight lid and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and the flavors have melded together.
  6. Serve hot with raita and enjoy the aromatic flavors of Shyam's Goat Biryani.
