Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, mix sugar, butter, eggs, salt, and flour. Add the yeast mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl and let it rise for 1 hour.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter on top, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 rolls. Place them in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake the rolls at 350°F for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. While the rolls are baking, mix cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to make the icing.
