Ingredients

  • 1 jar grape leaves, drained
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the rice, pine nuts, parsley, mint, dill, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and cinnamon.
  2. Take a grape leaf and place it flat on a cutting board. Spoon a small amount of the rice mixture onto the center of the leaf.
  3. Fold the sides of the leaf over the rice mixture, then roll the leaf up tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
  4. Repeat with the remaining grape leaves and rice mixture.
  5. Place the stuffed grape leaves in a large pot, seam side down, in a single layer.
  6. Add enough water to cover the grape leaves and place a heavy plate on top to keep them submerged.
  7. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the plate and allow the grape leaves to cool before serving.
  9. Serve the stuffed grape leaves with tzatziki sauce for dipping.
