Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 oz egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add beef strips and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add onions and garlic. Cook until onions are soft, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add mushrooms and cook until they release their juices, about 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine.
  6. Slowly pour in beef broth while stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  7. Stir in sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Return beef strips to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Serve beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles.
