These mini sweet potato samosas are the perfect appetizer or snack for any occasion. The sweet and savory filling combined with the crispy pastry shell will leave your taste buds craving for more. These bite-sized samosas are easy to make and are sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweet potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 12-16 wonton wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  2. Add onions, green chili, and ginger-garlic paste. Saute until onions turn translucent.
  3. Add turmeric powder, garam masala, and red chili powder. Mix well.
  4. Add mashed sweet potatoes and thawed peas. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and mix until well combined. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
  6. Place a spoonful of the sweet potato filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  7. Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal using water.
  8. Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer.
  9. Fry the samosas in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  11. Serve hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
