- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and salt. Beat in the egg, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Drop dough by the tablespoonful onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Once cookies are completely cooled, combine the powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Dip the top of each cookie into the glaze, then place on a wire rack to allow the glaze to harden.
