Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/4 cup water

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir in the cornmeal and mix until well combined.
  4. Add in the olive oil, white wine, and water and stir until the ingredients are evenly distributed and the dough is soft and slightly sticky.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes.
  6. Form the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool before slicing and serving.
