Ingredients
- 2 large onions
- 1 cup all-purpose flour

Directions
- Peel the onions and slice them into 1/2 inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set aside.
- In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour the buttermilk into another shallow bowl.
- Place the breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
