Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley, for garnish
    • Directions

      1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes.
      2. Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute more.
      3. Add the white wine to the skillet and cook until almost completely evaporated, about 3 minutes.
      4. Add the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese and stir to combine. Simmer until the sauce is thickened and creamy, about 5 minutes.
      5. Drain the spaghetti and add it to the skillet. Toss to coat the spaghetti with the sauce.
      6. Serve the spaghetti garnished with parsley.
