Ingredients

  • 1 pound of Italian sausage
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of white wine
  • 1/2 cup of chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup of sun-dried tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup of Kalamata olives, pitted and chopped
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 loaf of Italian panettone, cut into 1-inch cubes

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the sausage from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the oregano, basil, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper, and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Stir in the white wine, chicken broth, sun-dried tomatoes, and olives and bring to a simmer.
  7. Add the sausage back to the pan and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
  8. Add the panettone cubes and stir to combine.
  9. Cover and cook until the panettone is softened, about 10 minutes.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
