Ingredients
- 3 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 package refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, and water.
- Unroll one of the pie crusts and cut into 6 squares.
- Place a spoonful of apple mixture into the center of each square.
- Fold the corners of the square up to the center and pinch to seal.
- Place the prepared dumplings on a greased baking sheet and repeat with remaining crust and apple mixture.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
