Ingredients

  • 3 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, and water.
  3. Unroll one of the pie crusts and cut into 6 squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of apple mixture into the center of each square.
  5. Fold the corners of the square up to the center and pinch to seal.
  6. Place the prepared dumplings on a greased baking sheet and repeat with remaining crust and apple mixture.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
