Indulge in the creamy goodness of old-fashioned vanilla ice pops, also known as pop pops. These homemade frozen treats are perfect for hot summer days and evoke a sense of nostalgia with every lick. Simple yet delicious, these ice pops will have you coming back for more.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla bean, and salt.
  2. Warm the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Remove the vanilla bean pod and scrape out the seeds. Add the seeds back into the mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into ice pop molds and insert sticks.
  6. Freeze for at least 6 hours or until firm.
  7. To unmold, run the molds under warm water for a few seconds.
