Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (2 ounces) unsalted butter
  • 3 ounces continental chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the chocolate and stir until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add to the chocolate mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the walnuts. Pour into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  7. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
