Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup butter, softened
  • ⅔ cup warm milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1½ cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the butter, milk, and eggs. Add the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough out into a 12x18 inch rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the dough evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the dough, leaving a ¼ inch border.
  7. Roll the dough up lengthwise, pinch the seam to seal, and cut into 12 slices.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and flour. Brush the tops of the rolls with the mixture.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
