Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Beat in eggs until creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until combined.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips and spread batter into prepared cake pan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  7. When cake is done, pour cream mixture over the top and let cool completely before serving.
