Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 cup of vegetable oil

Directions

  1. In a blender, combine the egg yolk, mustard, white vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Slowly add the oil in a thin stream while the blender is running.
  4. Continue blending until the mayonnaise has thickened.
  5. Taste the mayonnaise and add more salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Pour the finished mayonnaise into a jar and store it in the refrigerator for up to one week.
