Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the dark chocolate chips and stir to combine.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, egg, oil, vanilla extract, and buttermilk until smooth.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
