Ingredients

  • 1 (4 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can chunk chicken, drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 (17 ounce) package frozen puff pastry shells, thawed

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, celery, onion, green pepper, chicken, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Brush melted butter onto each puff pastry shell.
  4. Fill each pastry shell with chicken salad mixture.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and filling is hot.

Interesting Facts

  • The puff pastry shells can be replaced by tart shells or even wonton wrappers.
  • The filling can also be served over crackers or toast.
  • The cream cheese can be substituted with sour cream or Greek yogurt.
