Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- Shredded cheddar cheese, for serving (optional)
Directions
- In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, oregano, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the water and macaroni and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the macaroni is tender, about 10 minutes.
- Serve with shredded cheddar cheese, if desired.
