Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin, or line with paper muffin liners.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, milk, and cheddar cheese.
- Combine the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until moistened. Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling them about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the tops are golden brown. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
