Ingredients
- 1 refrigerated pie crust, or your favorite homemade pie crust recipe
- 4 cups thinly sliced apples
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brewed chai tea
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
- In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, cloves, pepper, and salt. Mix until evenly distributed.
- Add melted butter and chai tea and mix until evenly distributed.
- Add light brown sugar and mix until evenly distributed.
- Pour filling into pie crust and spread evenly.
- Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
