Ingredients

  • 1 refrigerated pie crust, or your favorite homemade pie crust recipe
  • 4 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brewed chai tea
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger, cloves, pepper, and salt. Mix until evenly distributed.
  3. Add melted butter and chai tea and mix until evenly distributed.
  4. Add light brown sugar and mix until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour filling into pie crust and spread evenly.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
  7. Cool before serving.
