Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of day-old white bread, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups of raisins
  • 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Place bread cubes in the prepared dish and sprinkle with raisins and butterscotch chips.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Pour this mixture over the bread cubes, raisins, and butterscotch chips.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until golden brown and the center is set.
  5. Serve warm or cold, topped with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
