Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract and stir until combined.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts.
Starting with the long side of the rectangle, roll up the dough and cut into 12 equal pieces.
Place the rolls in a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
Interesting Facts
The dough for these sweet rolls can be made up to 24 hours in advance and kept in the refrigerator until ready to use.
These rolls can also be frozen for up to two months.
You can use any combination of fillings for these sweet rolls, such as raisins, nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit.
