Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in the baking powder, baking soda, salt and vanilla.
- Stir in the flour alternately with the buttermilk. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the blueberries, brown sugar, walnuts, flour and melted butter. Sprinkle over the top of the cake.
- Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow cake to cool before serving.
