Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar and mix until combined. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  3. Add the salt, baking powder and flour and mix until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
