Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Sift together the baking powder, salt, and flour, and add to the wet mixture. Stir until just blended.
  4. Fold in the apples and pecans. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes, then spread the caramel sauce over the top. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
