Ingredients

  • 1kg beef, cut into cubes
  • 3 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 cup of red wine
  • 1/2 cup of beef stock
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and cook until browned on all sides.
  2. Add the onions and garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  3. Add the tomato paste, oregano, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, red wine, and beef stock and bring to a boil.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker and cook on low heat for 8 hours.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
