Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/2 cup marzipan
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat together the sugar, eggs, butter, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, stir together the ricotta cheese and marzipan until combined.
- Spread the ricotta mixture over the cooled cake. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
