Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream

- 2 cups of cooked small shell pasta
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Melt the butter in a large stockpot over medium-high heat.
- Add the diced onion and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the flour and stir for about 1 minute until the flour is completely incorporated.
- Slowly add in the chicken broth, stirring as you add it.
- Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper, and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese, and serve the soup hot.
