Ingredients

  • 3-4 bartlett pears (peeled, cored, and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine pears, white sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, ginger, cardamom, and allspice. Stir until pears are evenly coated.
  3. Pour mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
  4. In a medium bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Stir in oats, walnuts, and vanilla extract. Sprinkle over the top of the pie.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
