Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs beef roast
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 6-8 French rolls
  • Provolone cheese slices (optional)

Directions

  1. Place beef roast in slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, combine soup mix, broth, wine, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder and pour over roast.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  5. When roast is done, remove from slow cooker and shred with two forks.
  6. Strain cooking liquid and skim off fat.
  7. Return shredded beef to slow cooker and keep warm.
  8. Split French rolls in half and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Top with slices of provolone cheese, if desired.
  10. Broil on high until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. To assemble sandwiches, place shredded beef on roll and top with melted cheese.
  12. Serve with cooking liquid for dipping.
