Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 (16-ounce) cans whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour until smooth, and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Slowly pour in milk, and stir until thickened. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, and garlic powder.
  3. Stir in corn, and transfer mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle cheese over the top.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
