Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 6-cavity doughnut pan with vegetable oil.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla until combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the apples, sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. Top each doughnut with the apple mixture. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Carefully remove the doughnuts from the pan and place on a cooling rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
