Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until smooth.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, until well blended.
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
Cool cookies on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

You can also add nuts, dried fruit, or other mix-ins to the cookie mix.
You can store the cookie mix in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
