Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, cored and chopped
  • 1 sweet or spicy Polish sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package of pierogies

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced Polish sausage and sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the sausage is lightly browned.
  4. Add the chopped cabbage and sauté for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add the butter, paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  7. Top with the pierogies and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pierogies are golden brown and the cabbage is tender.
  8. Serve warm.
