Ingredients
1 head of cabbage, cored and chopped
1 sweet or spicy Polish sausage, sliced
1 onion, diced
3 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tablespoon of olive oil
2 tablespoons of butter
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
1 package of pierogies
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Add the sliced Polish sausage and sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the sausage is lightly browned.
Add the chopped cabbage and sauté for an additional 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the butter, paprika, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Transfer the mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Top with the pierogies and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pierogies are golden brown and the cabbage is tender.
Serve warm.
