Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. venison roast
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sea salt, pepper, and allspice. Rub the mixture onto the venison roast on all sides.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the venison roast in the skillet and brown on all sides.
  3. Transfer the roast to a slow cooker. Add the beef broth, tomato sauce, and Worcestershire sauce to the slow cooker.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours.
  5. When the venison roast is finished cooking, remove from the slow cooker and set aside.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and 1/2 cup of cooking liquid from the slow cooker. Pour the flour mixture into the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  7. Return the venison to the slow cooker and stir to combine. Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  8. Serve the venison pot roast with mashed potatoes or rice.
