Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chopped chocolate and vanilla extract.
  5. Transfer the pudding to a bowl and let cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Cover the pudding with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
