Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin (sweet rice wine)
  • 1/4 cup sake (rice wine)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic. Set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until lightly browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the mushrooms and broccoli, and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 3 minutes.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce is thickened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and cilantro, and serve.
