Ingredients
- 2 lb potatoes, peeled and cut into 2-inch cubes
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 oz bacon, diced
- 4 oz Gruyere cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large saucepan, bring the potatoes to a boil in lightly salted water and cook until just tender, about 10 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and bacon and cook until the bacon is crisp, about 5 minutes.
- Add the potatoes to the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Pour the cream over the potatoes and season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to an oven-safe baking dish and top with the grated cheese.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot.
