Ingredients
- 2 peaches, pitted and roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
- In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and cayenne pepper.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a simmer and the peaches are soft, about 8 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Pour the spread into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
