Ingredients

  • 5-pound pork shoulder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, dry mustard, black pepper, and salt. Rub the mixture over the pork shoulder.
  3. Place the pork shoulder in a large roasting pan and add the apple cider vinegar and chicken broth.
  4. Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 6 hours.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 1-2 hours, or until the pork is fall-off-the-bone tender.
  6. Remove the pork from the oven and let cool slightly.
  7. Shred the pork using two forks and serve on hamburger buns with your favorite BBQ sauce.
