Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup lingonberry jam

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the beef, pork, bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and allspice. Mix together until evenly combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, whisk together the flour and beef broth until smooth. Cook over medium heat until the mixture is thickened and bubbly. Add the cream and stir until combined.
  6. Add the meatballs back to the skillet and stir in the lingonberry jam. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce is heated through.
  7. Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes, pickled cucumber, and lingonberry jam.
