Ingredients

  • 1 lb asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Oil for frying

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Working in batches, dip the asparagus pieces into the flour mixture, then into the milk mixture, then back into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  4. Heat a few inches of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Carefully add the asparagus to the hot oil in batches and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
