Ingredients

  • 1 pound tuna fillet, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sake
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, sake, garlic, ginger, and sugar.
  2. Add the tuna cubes to the bowl and stir to coat with the marinade.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the tuna marinate for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. When ready to cook, fill a steamer pot with water and bring to a boil.
  5. Place the marinated tuna in the steamer basket and steam for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the steamed tuna from the pot and serve with steamed rice.
