This homemade habanero sauce recipe is perfect for those who love spicy and flavorful condiments. Ingredients

  • 10 habanero peppers
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano

Directions

  1. Remove the stems from the habanero peppers and chop them roughly. Wear gloves while handling the peppers to protect your skin from their heat.
  2. Peel and roughly chop the garlic cloves.
  3. Peel and dice the onion.
  4. In a blender or food processor, combine the habanero peppers, garlic, onion, white vinegar, lime juice, sugar, salt, cumin, paprika, black pepper, and oregano. Blend until smooth.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool. Once cooled, transfer it to a clean jar or bottle.
  8. Store the habanero sauce in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
